MiG-13/I-250/N A.I.Mikoyan/M.I.Gurevich

32k b/w from "History of aircraft construction in the USSR" by V.B.Shavrov, Vol.1 p.240;

A small all-metal mixed-power fighter with a piston engine in the nose and a VRDK 'booster' in the tail. VRDK was basically a jet engine with a compressor driven by the Klimov engine. It had variable exaust nozzle. Joined power of both engines was up to 2800hp (at 7000m).
It was very well armed - 3 B-20 cannons provided salvo of 3.84 kg/sec. One of cannons was installed to fire through the spinner, two others - on the engine sides, syncronized.
First flight was performed on March 3, 1945. In March-May I-250 passed first test program.
50 (or less than 20?) built, and in service until 1950 with USSR Navy (Baltic and Polar fleet);
